The bullying that Seaman dealt with was just an experience that allowed him to look at the tape and think "me being bullied makes total sense now humans are just evil." Sensui just targeted people who would be more susceptible to the idea of humanity being corrupt and irredeemable. He may be older than Game Master, but the show focuses on him being very much a kid too (his epilogue is about him making friends and promising to study real hard in school)ĭon't get it twisted it was chapter black that caused Seaman, and most of the others, to turn their backs on humanity. When he’s introduced, he’s sure he’s doing the right thing but within a few minutes he had to accept that the tape was a half truth, his life experience was unreliable/limited, and his savior was a manipulative sociopath who at that very moment was trying to kill him. The problem there was that he was convinced Sensui was a righteous man (one who also had a magic vhs tape that Spirit World knew would have brainwashed anybody). Someone who used to work for heaven, and had the nickname black angel. Sensui was a tall, good looking, charismatic leader who listened and made him feel understood. Seaman was a kid who was already depressed and impressionable and got preyed on by a master orator. I think you’re underestimating his dilemma there.
